Patient Engagement Workshop (Funded by University of Manchester Engaging Our Communities Fund)
We ran a patient workshop in March 2020 to better understand the quality and safety concerns of individuals with vitamin B12 deficiency in the Greater Manchester area. Thirteen participants attended the event and generated a list of patient safety key priorities. The participants also worked with artist Emma Barnard to develop visual art to express their lived experience of the condition and quality and safety concerns/priorities.

Questionnaire of over 1200 individuals with B12 deficiency
We ran a survey during July 2020 to better understand the experiences of individuals with B12 deficiency with primary care. We used the PCPMOS (Primary Care Patient Measure of Safety) to assess safety in primary care from the patient perspective. We focused on UK participants, however international participants also responded. The results are currently being analysed.
